There is little doubt the words Jon Bon Jovi has sung have made a difference in people’s lives.
But it’s the words he spoke Tuesday that saved a life.
Bon Jovi, lead singer of the band with the same name, and his team prevented a woman from jumping off the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville Tuesday night, The Tennessean reported.
A post by Metro Nashville Police Department revealed what the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer did.
‘A shout out to @jonbonjovi
& his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night,” the post read. “Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. ‘It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,’–Chief John Drake”
Bon Jovi was on the bridge to film a music video for his song “The People’s House.” The bridge stayed open to the public during the shoot.
The post by the MNPD included a video of a woman wearing a blue shirt over the ledge of the bridge. Her arms were wrapped around the railing.
