âThe Viewâ co-host Joy Behar is lashing out at George Clooney for calling on President Joe Biden to step aside and let someone else run for president for the Democrats.
During a segment of the show on Thursday, Behar said, âGeorge Clooney, couldnât you tell him that in person for Godâs sake?â
âHe has to write an op-ed piece?â she asked indignantly.
Behar then cited a report from the World Bank that she claimed said, âThe U.S. economy under Biden is boosting up the entire global economy right now.â
âWhy doesnât George Clooney mention that in his op-ed piece? Iâm mad at George Clooney right now,â she added.
Meanwhile, co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, âI donât like that George Clooney did this and aired this dirty laundry to the world.â
She added such conversations âshould be happening privatelyâŚThis is the man who saved the soul of our country.â
In a guest essay published by The New York Times, Clooney said, âI love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, heâs won many of the battles heâs faced.â
âBut the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,â he continued. âItâs devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe âbig F-ing dealâ Biden of 2010. He wasnât even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.â
Clooney insisted, âWas he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didnât see what we just saw.â
