Former Vice President Kamala Harrisâ team seemingly quickly changed the name of its rebranded âHeadquartersâ X handle following widespread online mockery.
On Thursday, Harrisannounced in a video statement posted to X that âKamala HQâ â the former social media operation for her failed 2024 presidential campaign â would now be dubbed âHeadquarters.â The newly rebranded X account had  the handle â@headquarters_67â Thursday â seemingly in reference to the popular â6-7âł meme â but changed it to âheadquarters68_â shortly after, following the original handle being widelypanned on social media.
Harrisâ office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundationâs request for comment.
âCounting up until you guys go back to caring about actual things that matter,â Headquarters wrote in a Friday X post in response to another user pointing out the handle name change.
Harrisâ Thursday announcement came amid mountingspeculation that she will seek a third consecutive White House bid in 2028. Several anonymous Democrats told the Daily Caller on Thursday that they are not completely enthused about Harrisâ social media hub rebrand.
âAnother account that makes memes! Wow, groundbreaking,â one former Biden-Harris White House staffer told the Daily Caller. â didnât think she was going to make some presidential announcement this early, but it was telling how ominous it felt. Everyone kind of felt nervous. Itâs easier when sheâs on the book tour. Thatâs predictable.â
Additionally, a CNN panel on Thursday blasted the â@headquarters_67â X handle for being âcringe.â
Moreover, Harris wrote in a Substack post on Thursday that âDemocrats must improve our ability to convey our message and reach every American â including Gen Z, who are now a larger generation than the Baby Boomers and are one of our greatest assets as we confront the challenges ahead.â
âThat is why I have decided to revive my teamâs social media operation, KamalaHQ,â she added.
