Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake made headlines after storming off the set of â60 Minutesâ Australia over questions about former President Donald Trump and the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Lake grew frustrated during the interview that aired on Sunday when journalist Liam Bartlett called the former president âyour man Donald.â
She responded, âWhy would you say that sir? âYour man Donald?'â
Bartlett noted Trump endorsed her personally, adding, âHe said a few days ago that those people at the Capitol should be pardoned.â
When asked if the accused rioters should be pardoned, Lake responded, âIâm still amazed that you say, âYour man Donald.â Thatâs just so disrespectful.â
The former news anchor continued, âItâs just the flippant attitude. Itâs obvious that youâve come into this. Itâs obvious that youâve come into this interview and you donât like President Donald Trump.â
Lake accused Bartlett of âtrying to twist this interviewâ and trying to make her âlook bad.â

Transitioning to the accused January 6 rioters, Lake told Bartlett she does not like âthat people are being held in prison without being charged.â
Commenting on the Second Amendment, Lake explained, âWe will never ever let that go.â
The interview took a turn as Lake grew more frustrated. Storming off the set, she could be heard saying, âThat guy is a complete nut. Seriously, a complete insane person.â
In September 2021, Trump endorsed Lake. CNN noted she has repeated his false claims about election fraud.
âShe is strong on Crime, will protect our Border, Second Amendment, Military, and Vets, and will fight to restore Election Integrity (both past and future!),â Trump said in a statement.
He continued, âShe is against Covid lockdowns, Cancel Culture, and will end âwokeâ curriculum in our schools. She will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Duceyâwonât even be a contest!â
