Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings touched off a fiery exchange with anti-Second Amendment activist Cameron Kasky on Monday night after he used the term âillegals.â
Violent opposition to immigration enforcement operations by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area escalated after an ICE agent shot one of three men who ambushed him during a Wednesday traffic stop, a week after another ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good. Jennings had previously clashed with attorney Stacy Schneider over the refusal by state and local authorities in Minnesota to cooperate with the Trump administration regarding illegal immigration, and used the term âillegalsâ to reference illegal aliens.
âYou donât get to say the word illegals anymore,â Kasky told Jennings, prompting a brief back and forth before Jennings responded, âWho are you to tell me what I can and canât, Iâve never met you, brother. I can say whatever I want. Theyâre illegal aliens, and thatâs what the law calls them, illegal aliens. Thatâs what Iâm going to call them.â
WATCH:
The term âalienâ is defined in 8 USC 1101 as âany person not a citizen or national of the United States.â The term âillegal aliensâ is used in multiple parts of the United States Code, including 8 USC 1182, 8 USC 1252c and 8 USC 1366.
After further back-and-forth between Jennings and Schneider, Kasky again attempted to police Jenningsâ use of the term âillegalsâ after âCNN NewsNightâ guest host John Berman offered the Parkland shooting survivor âthe last word.â
âListen, you canât say illegals anymore because ICE is directly targeting legal citizens of this country and I ââ Kasky said before Jennings shot back, âHow are you going to enforce your edict on me, just out of curiosity?â
After additional back and forth, Kasky cast aspersions on why Jennings used the term.
âI understand that your job is predicated on just getting increasingly more demanded every single week and that the audience comes back to see if perhaps youâll get ââ Kasky claimed as Jennings shot back with, âMake your point.â
âMy point is that youâre saying the word illegals, but you donât even really know whatâs happening. Or actually, I think you do,â Kasky shot back, with Jennings replying, âSure, do.â
After Kasky claimed Jennings was using the terms he did deliberately, Jennings conceded the point.
âYes, because I want the law enforced,â Jennings responded, leading to another back-and-forth during which Kasky claimed ICE was targeting American citizens.
âYou cannot deny that. I mean you can on national television deny facts all the time,â Kasky said regarding the claims about ICE, with Jennings responding, âThey are not.â
âYou can a couple times in this very episode,â Kasky claimed, with Jennings responding, âI still want to know how youâre going to enforce your law. How are you going to enforce it?â
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon told podcaster Benny Johnson Monday that left-wing riots who disrupted a church service in St. Paul could potentially be charged with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Anti-ICE rioters in Minneapolis have accosted random white men in the area, demanding to know if they are ICE.
Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Jorge Ventura took video of the left-wing mob attacking another attendee of a counter-protest who was hit in the head repeatedly, and left bleeding from at least one head wound. Ventura also captured a photo of a masked individual holding what appeared to be an AR-15 pistol at a demonstration as well as video of a member of the left-wing mob cursing at law enforcement officers.
