Left-wing protesters at a vigil for Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk sang a song that was engraved on a bullet in the rifle of Kirk’s alleged assassin in a video posted to social media Sunday evening.

The College Republicans chapter at New York University held a vigil for Kirk, who was assassinated on Wednesday during a ā€œProve Me Wrongā€ event at Utah Valley University sponsored by TPUSA, where he was debating attendees on various topics. The video, posted on the official X account of the NYU College Republicans, showed the left-wing demonstrators singing the song.

ā€œProtesters sung the song written on the bullet casings which killed Charlie Kirk at the vigil mourning his death tonight at NYU,ā€ the group posted. ā€œThey also threatened to kill NYU College Republican Club president Ryan Leonard. They’re not looking for peace.ā€

Republican Gov. Spencer Cox of Utah confirmed that ā€œBella Ciaoā€ was engraved on one of the bullet casings when announcing the arrest of Tyler Robinson for Kirk’s assassination. The song became a popular anthem among left-wing partisans in Italy resisting the regime of Benito Mussolini.

Democrats have called Republicans ā€œfascistsā€ on multiple occasions. Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin claimed in August that the U.S. faces ā€œan insidious forceā€ seeking to create ā€œfascismā€ in the country.

Then-Vice President Kamala Harris called President Donald Trump a ā€œfascistā€ during an Oct. 23 town hall on CNN as part of a pattern of escalating attacks in the closing weeks of the 2024 presidential campaign, which included devoting a major speech to attacking the former president as a threat to democracy.

Then-President Joe Biden said that Trump supporters were a ā€œthreat to democracyā€ during a September 2022 speech in Philadelphia that took place a week after he claimed Republicans embraced ā€œsemi-fascismā€ at a DNC fundraiser and attacked ā€œMAGA Republicansā€ during a speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
