The anti-Trump group, The Lincoln Project, is being recognized for the âfearlessnessâ of its political ads that were critical of the president in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.Â
Ad Age released a list of top-performing marketers. It said the list was based on âbusiness results driven by breakthrough advertising and smart strategic thinking.â
The anti-Trump group was recognized for its âgo-for-broke attitudeâ that âshows that fearlessness is a key ingredient for great creative.â
In a statement, co-founder Rick Wilson said, âTo be included on a list with major brands that are household names is humbling to say the least.â
âThis was completely unexpected, and we are delighted and honored to be included,â he added.
Reed Galen, another co-founder, also said, âIt is surreal and validating to learn that our teamâs hard work has been recognized by such a prestigious entity in the advertising industry.â
The group was given the fourth top spot on the list, below TikTok, McDonaldâs, and Loweâs.
The Lincoln Project, founded roughly a year ago, raised millions of dollars over the past year and produced ads critical of Trump and his Republican allies in Congress.
The groupâs website says it is âholding accountable those who would violate their oaths to the Constitution and would put others before Americans.â
The groupâs ads occasionally appeared to get under Trumpâs skin, who called the founders âa group of RINO Republicans who failed badlyâ and âlosersâ who are âdoing everything possible to get even for all of their many failures.â
