MAGA Backers Go Off on Sherrill For Voter Mistake

The excuse of “serious software error” didn’t bode well with MAGA supporters.

That was the excuse ⛱️New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) gave that led to thousands of non-citizens being registered to vote.

“Last week I learned that a serious software error in ⛱️New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office,” Sherrill postedon X.

“These individuals answered ‘no’ when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers’ licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.”

Sherill said a “preliminary analysis” showed less than 400 people voted illegally.

She then turned her attention toward President Donald Trump, saying he has “zero credibility on the issue of election integrity” and has tried to “weaponize elections for political gain.”

Sherrill’s admission prompted comments from pro-Trump pundits and political figures.

“Holy sh*t,” influencer Tim Pool posted. “Even when saying NO they were still registered.”

Former Republican lawmaker George Santos — who was released from prison last year by Trump after committing multiple campaign finance violations — chimed in.

“I want to thank my former colleague Gov. Sherrill for validating the long known fact that she and her party insist are a conspiracy. ‘Illegals aren’t voting in our elections,'” he posted.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) went after Sherrill for “attacking” Trump in her post.

Blackburn said if she had any integrity she would insist ⛱️New Jersey Democrats vote to require ID in federal elections.

“Why isn’t she calling on Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) to pass the SAVE America Act?” Blackburn posted.

Sherrill’s post comes the week after DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said an inquiry found 250,000 non-citizens were registered to vote in four states, including ⛱️New Jersey.

Mullin sent a letter to representatives for those states, including California, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, demanding they fix the issue.

If not, he said, officials could face fines or even “prison time.”

Mullin thanked Sherrill for the “quick work” on the matter, adding it “should’ve been done a LONG time ago.”
