Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” is blasting what he calls the “liberal Media” for its coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday, Maher noted a survey published in The New York Times that asked people, “‘What do you think the chances are that you would have to go to the hospital if you got COVID?'”
Maher also claimed the Times is a “liberal paper, so they weren’t looking for this answer.”
“And Democrats thought that was way higher than Republicans,” Maher said as he explained that 41% of Democrats thought there was over a 50% chance they would have to go to the hospital. And another 28% thought there was a 20-49% chance of hospitalization.
He continued, “Liberal Media has to take a little responsibility for that — for scaring the sh*t out of people.”
“The reason why I’m bringing this up is because it’s much harder for every touring act to sell tickets in blue states. They’re afraid to go out of the house,” he said, adding, “Whereas, in red states, it’s all good to go.”
He assured viewers that his comedy tour will have social distancing measures in place and urged them to “embrace life.”
