Legendary singer and âQueen of Christmasâ Mariah Carey recently shared how she enjoys the Christmas season through prayer, song and more.
According to People Magazine, Carey lets the joys of the holidays help her through her hectic schedule since she is doing a massive holiday music tour.
She said, âIâve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year.â
âSince last yearâbecause last year wasnât the greatest. Iâm thankful for them all, but it wasnât my most fun version of Christmas ever,â she added.Â
It was right around this time in 2022 the Federal Trademark Board formally denied Carey the title of Queen of Christmas.
Then she noted what is helping her feel that joyful spirit this time around. She said, âI would say itâs writing. Itâs prayer. Itâs like these little things that can take you from possibly being in a really bad mood to just being in a better place immediately.â
âAnd just really being thankful for all scenarios, all the moments that come our way,â she added.
Carey also described having two Christmas trees at home in New York and focusing on family.
She noted, âI have two different styles of trees at home. One is the more grand, kind of gold and cream and sparkly angels and butterflies tree that I have every year.â
âIt makes me really happy. The other one is like a Charlie Brown tree. Peanuts forever!â she went on.
She then explained, âFor the Charlie Brown tree, we do Polaroids of ourselves and put them on the tree.â
âAnd itâs fun because itâs a sad little tree, but we decorate it, and itâs cute, and itâs got the colorful lights,â she added.
Carey called herself âeternally 12 years oldâ and happily described having her children perform with her during the new tour.
âAs they grow up and decide what to do with their lives, itâs really nice for me to be able to see them performing onstage,â she stated.
âI even like watching them getting ready, preparing to perform,â she concluded.
Her twins each have their own part to play. Roc raps on âHere Comes Santa Clausâ and Roe sings on âJesus Born on This Day.â
