If there’s one thing Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) is resolving to not do is not support Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) in his quest to maintain his speakership.

Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) asked Massie if he’d vote for Johnson if Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) would become the chairman of House Rules Committee, per The Hill.

Gaetz is the new host on One America News Network.

ā€œOh no. You can pull all my fingernails out, you can shove bamboo up in them, you can start cutting off my fingers,ā€ Massie said late Thursday.

ā€œI am not voting for Mike Johnson tomorrow, and you can take that to the bank,ā€ Massie added.

Massie has previously said Johnson is not up to the job as Speaker and is not what the Republican Party needs.

ā€œ want a Speaker who inspires the public and who can make our case in the media, so we can keep the majority for the second half of Trump’s term,ā€ Massie posted on X on New Year’s Eve.

ā€œJohnson nearly led us to the minority in what was a banner year for Trump,ā€ he wrote. ā€œHe is certain to lose us the majority in 2026.ā€

But not everyone is anti-Johnson as both President-elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk have endorsed Johnson.

ā€œGood luck today for Speaker Mike Johnson, a fine man of great ability, who is very close to having 100% support. A win for Mike today will be a big win for the Republican Party, and yet another acknowledgment of our 129 year most consequential Presidential Election!! – A BIG AFFIRMATION, INDEED. MAGA!ā€ TrumpĀ wrote Friday on Truth SocialĀ
