McConnell Missing Posters Pop Up in DC

The hunt for Sen. 👤Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) face gone next level as 🔍Missing posters featuring the senator have popped up around Washington, D.C.

The Kentucky politician has been absent from Capitol Hill for about seven weeks.

The posters show a smiling McConnell in a hospital bed with the headline: “🔍Missing PERSON,” his name and a description: “84 years old 5’9 FEET TURTLE-LIKE.”

“Known for: Blocking something in the Senate. Distinguishing feature: Tortoise-like appearance,” the poster read.

“If you have any information about his whereabouts, please keep it to yourself,” the poster read. “He would.”

The prank posters were distributed by the Save America Movement, a political action committee that opposes President Donald Trump, per The Independent.

“We put those flyers up because this has gotten absurd,” a Save America Movement spokesperson told the outlet.

“For more than a month now, the senior senator from Kentucky has not cast a vote, has not appeared for the work of the chamber, and has not, in any provable or functional sense, represented the four-and-a-half million people who sent him there.”

The posters popped up around the same time as independent journalist Nicholas Ballasy posted video of a senior McConnell aide refusing to answer questions about the senator.

“Sen. 👤Mitch McConnell’s Senior Communications Adviser Robert Steurer wouldn’t respond when asked if McConnell will release a video statement,” he wrote alongside a clip of Steurer walking away from him.
