Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee Chairwoman (RNC), is expressing regret that she let members of former President Donald Trump’s legal team use the RNC headquarters to spread unfounded claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
On November 19, Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell held a press conference at the RNC headquarters in Washington, D.C., where they made several unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud and a centralized effort to swing the election.
Speaking to The New York Times, McDaniel addressed that press conference as she said, “When I saw some of the things Sidney was saying, without proof, I certainly was concerned it was happening in my building.”
She added, “There are a whole host of issues we had to deal with — what is the liability of the R.N.C., if these allegations are made and unfounded?”

During the November press conference, Giuliani said, “I know crimes, I can smell them. You don’t have to smell this one, I can prove it to you, 18 different ways. I can prove to you that won, Pennsylvania, by 300,000 votes. I can prove to you that he won Michigan, probably 50,000 votes.”
