White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany participated in a heated exchange with CNNâs Kaitlan Collins during her press briefing Friday.
Close to the end of her time at the podium, McEnany claimed President Donald Trump âwas never given an orderly transition of power.â
She added, âHis presidency was never accepted.â
McEnany noted before the election, former FBI agent Peter Strzok launched Crossfire Hurricane to âpursue baseless allegations about the presidentâs ties with Russia.â
She argued 70 Democratic lawmakers refused to attend his inauguration.
âIn January of that year, you had President Obama have a âby the bookâ meeting where they talked about the Logan Act, using that act to go after lieutenant general Michael Flynn just before the inauguration,â McEnany said.

She added, âJust before the inauguration you had Buzzfeed promoting and publishing this bogus Steele Dossier thatâs been widely debunked.
McEnany pointed to what she believes is the âbaseless Mueller investigation which searched for collusion, found none, and exonerated President Trump.â
As she began to leave the podium, CNNâs Kaitlan Collins continued to try and ask McEnany a question.
McEnany replied, âI donât call on activists.â
Collins fired back, âIâm not an activist and you havenât taken questions since October 1st and you just took about five, Kayleigh. Thatâs not doing your job. Your taxpayer-funded job.â
She tweeted, âAppearing in her professional capacity, takes only a handful of questions in her first briefing since Oct. 1. Asked why canât call on all reporters â given itâs been so long and there are not many of us due to social distancing â she called me âan activist.'â
She went on, âItâs understandable why someone who hasnât done their job â taking questions from reporters â in weeks would confuse someone else doing theirs with activism.â
Trump continues to refuse to concede the election based on unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud.
