Conservative commentator Meghan McCain is not willing to bury the hatchet with Arizona Republican Senate hopeful Kari Lake.
In a post on X on Tuesday, McCain said, āKari Lake is trying to walk back her continued attacks on my Dad (& family) and all of his loyal supporters after telling them to āget the hell outā. Guess she realized she canāt become a Senator without us.ā
āNo peace, b*tch. We see you for who you are ā and are repulsed by it,ā she added.
Her comment about needing fans of her father, the late-Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), appeared to be in reference to a moment in 2022 during Lakeās failed gubernatorial bid.
āWe donāt have any McCain Republicans in here, do we? All right, get the hell out,ā Lake said at the time.
But during an interview with KTAR, she claimed the comment was āsaid in jest.ā
āAnd I think that if John McCain, who had a great sense of humor, would have heard it, he would have laughed,ā she insisted, before claiming Republicans āneed to get a little bit thicker skin because weāre going through some tough stuff right now and we need to be able to take a joke.ā
Lake responded to McCainās Tuesday post with a lengthy missive, writing, āHi Meghan, As mothers, (both with two kiddos) Iām know we both agree that our childrenās future is too important to let it slip away over past grudges or hurt feelings. Thatās why Iām working hard to unite Republicans, Independents, Democrats ā ALL Americans.ā
āMy dad passed away from cancer, too. I trust and believe that if our fathers were still with us they would do everything they could to save this Republic,ā she continued. āI want to make Senator McCain and Larry Lake proud. I value you. I value your family and I value the passion you have for our state.ā
Finally, Lake wrote, āIād love nothing more than to buy you a beer, a coffee or lunch and pick your brain about how we can work together to strengthen our state. My team is sending you my contact info ā if youāre willing to meet, it would mean a lot to me.ā
Still, Meghan McCain appeared unmoved, reiterating, āNO PEACE, B*TCH!ā
She added, āI breathe fire for my family and never forgive those who have trashed any of us ā particularly my Dad in death. Never.ā
