There was no âbaby Barackâ for the Obama family and former first lady Michelle Obama is just fine with that.
Obama revealed that tidbit Wednesday on an episode of âIMO,â a podcast she does with her brother, Craig Robinson, per the New York Post. The two were talking with guest Angie Martinez, a Hot 97 radio personality, who said the former first couple should have had a boy.
Obama, 61, quickly shot down that idea.
âIâm so glad I didnât have a boy,â said Obama, who has two daughters â Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24 â with her husband.
âBecause he would have been a Barack Obama. Ooh,â she said.
Martinez jumped on that, saying, âBaby Barack! It would have been amazing.â
âNo, I woulda felt for him,â Obama replied.
The focus of the episode was Parenting male children. Martinez has one son; Robinson has three sons
Obama offered some advice for those Parenting a boy.
âTeach about how to deal with the traffic stop, but also teach him how to communicate in a marriage and to be a listening father,â Obama said.
The couple wed in 1992.
âIâve loved every phase of Parenting: I loved them when they were little babies, I loved them when they were walking and starting to talk, the teenage years were interesting in the White House,â Obama said, per The Hill.
âBut Iâve loved every time with them â and watching them become their own people and make their own choices, and figure stuff out, and call me after they figure stuff out,â she added.
She lauded her husbandâs Parenting skills in a recent interview with Bruce Springsteen.
âI think Barack is just like you as a tremendous father, doing it in a lot of grandeur, right,â Obama told Springsteen.
Rumors have suggested the Obama may be divorcing. That quelled somewhat last month when the pair was seen on a date in Midtown Manhattan, the Post reported.
Obama disclosed that she is now in therapy and is âtransitioningâ to another phase in life.
