Former First LadyĀ Michelle ObamaĀ will be launching a childrenās show focused on eating healthy.
āIām beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, Iāll be launching a new show on called Waffles + Mochi!ā Obama tweeted on Tuesday.
She added, āIām excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world.ā
Michelle Obama also revealed she will be working with Partnership for a Healthier America.
She said it will āhelp kids build healthy habits and help families in need cook with fresh ingredients together at home.ā
Michelle Obama continued, āI hope youāll join us by watching on March 16!ā
Netflix released a statement describing the premise of the show.
āWith the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities,ā the statement reads, according to CNN.
Netflix announced in 2018 the Obamas struck a āmulti-year agreementā with the company to produce documentaries, films, and a variety of different series.
āOne of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,ā former President Barack Obama said in a statement at the time.
He added, āThatās why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix ā we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.ā
In November of 2020, the Obamas announced they would be producing a comedy series loosely based on a book that details the events after Trump was elected in 2016.
