A mystery that lingered for more than three decades has taken an unexpected turn, with authorities confirming that a girl who vanished as a child has now been found alive.
According to the New York Post, the case dates back to 1994, when 13-year-old Christina Marie Plante disappeared from the small community of Star Valley, located northeast of Phoenix.
At the time, her sudden disappearance sparked concern and a wide-ranging search effort.
According to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, the young teen had left her home to check on her horse at a nearby stable. She never returned.
Authorities described the circumstances as suspicious and warned early on that she could be in danger.
Flyers circulated throughout the region and beyond, describing the girl as blonde with blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, multicolored shorts, and black tennis shoes.
