Model Paulina Porizkova started 2023 with a fresh face.
On Sunday, the 57-year-old model posted an āunretouched, unfilteredā bare-faced selfie to her Instagram page and wrote about her past and also her plans for this year.
She wrote:
ā2022 began with me being immersed in writing my book and in my past.
It ended with the gratification of my book reaching you all, and your reactions to it.
Sandwiched in between, there was a new life: travel, modeling work as an older woman, and making new friends wherever I went. A beautiful and perfect blend of the new and the old. In 2023, my hopes are to be able to let go of the past. To quit trying to live in it for comfort ā even though it hurts and will keep hurting as long as I sit there. The unknown ahead is scary. So scary, that the pain of the past is preferable. This is what I want to conquer next. My fear of the unknown. To boldly go where I have never been before.ā
āHere is to a new year and the unknown. Hereās to embracing change. Getting wiser, getting older, getting bolder. Happy New Year all of you,ā she concluded.
Porizkova has been very vocal on embracing aging.
On Dec. 1, she posted a bare-faced selfie to her Instagram page and shared her thoughts on getting older.
āA tired, but very content 57 year old woman early in the morning- with nothing to hide. Even though now, when my face and body reflects the full experience and character of my life, Iām told I should be ashamed of it,ā she shared.
She concluded her post, writing, āAging is not a disease.. It should be celebrated for what it is. Growth and change.ā
In an interview with Womenās Wear Daily in October, Porizkova spoke openly about using different ānon invasiveā beauty treatments to look as good as she can, but that she doesnāt want to eliminate her age in the process.
āI just want a little subtle help. I donāt want any drastic stuff,ā she said. āI donāt want to eliminate my age. I just want to look as good as I can given the limitations.ā
