After former President Donald Trump gave a mother of three $100 to help pay for her groceries, the mom is sharing what she plans to do with the money.
Appearing on āFox & Friendsā Tuesday, Pennsylvania mom Jenny Kantz expressed that it was a ācomplete surpriseā that the Republican presidential candidate gave her the $100 on Monday.
āIt was a great experience,ā she said.
Kantz, whose cousin owns the Sprankles Neighborhood Market in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, shared her ātotal bill was $194 and some change, and theĀ inflation on groceriesĀ has definitely affected us.ā
She added:
āI think it was late 2022 or early 2023, I remember coming home from the grocery store and telling him , āI donāt even know how to budget for groceries anymore because itās like every time I go to the store, they just go up and up and up.ā That, paired with the rising cost of energy, fuel for our vehicles⦠it just means that we watch a little bit more closely what we spend.ā
Despite the rising prices, Kantz said she is going to keep the $100. āIām going to frame it,ā she said.
Watch the interview below:
āHere, itās going to go down a little bit,ā Trump said as he handed Kantz a $100 bill at the local grocery store. Trumpās communications team also identified the woman as a mother of three.
Trump added, āIt just went down 100 bucks.ā
āThank you so much,ā the woman responded.
āWeāll do that for you from the White House, alright?ā Trump said.
In case you missed it:
While making his way through the aisles, his attention was caught by a large bag of popcorn. āOh, look, I gotta get some. We gotta get it,ā he said.
Trump asked, āIs this stuff good?ā and quickly followed with a promise: āIf it is, Iāll be sending, Iāll be in Washington D.C., hopefully in the Oval Office, Iāll send for popcorn.ā
The Republican presidential candidate also met with the owner of the local grocery store to discuss the impact of inflation on local businesses.
Trump asked how the store does against the bigger stores, to which the owner responded, āYou know, Iām very proud because every year we went up, except for the last three years because of this inflation. Itās exactly what you said, prices are up, but our sales are down so weāve had to get super creative on how to use our space.ā
