Mark Halperin said Wednesday on Newsmax that President Joe Biden’s farewell address demonstrated why he should not pursue another term.
During an appearance on “Finnerty,” Halperin said there is an inconsistency between public perception and the media portrayal of Biden’s cognitive abilities.
“His wife just did an interview at the Washington Post where she said she thought he was clearly still ready. It’s one of the great scandals in American history, not just the cover up by the White House, but the media’s collusion with the press, with the administration to cover it up,” Halperin said. “And I think it’s wrong to say he accomplished nothing. And I think it’s wrong to say that every day he showed a loss of mental acuity. But there’s this bizarre thing where it was denied by the establishment media and the White House.”
Halperin challenged the narrative that Biden remains fit for the presidency.
“For a couple of weeks they said, ‘Oh yeah, in fact, this loss of mental acuity is a real issue.’ Then he gets off the ticket, and all of a sudden they go back to denying that there’s any issue,” Halperin said.
Halperin said that there was a lack of transparency. He also said he questioned the integrity of a system that oscillates so readily between acknowledgment and denial, a pattern he believes disqualifies Biden from pursuing another term.

“It’s one of the weirdest and most corrupt things I’ve ever seen, and I’m trying to understand it and get to the bottom of it. But that’s what we saw tonight. Once again, that’s not someone who should be president for four more years by the judgment of any political or medical professional,” Halperin said.
As he prepares to hand over power to President-elect Donald Trump, Biden reflected on his long political career. He also said there’s a growing oligarchy in America. Biden
