Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) insists President Joe Biden could easily beat former President Donald Trump in a push-up contest.

Dean argued during a Monday interview on MSNBC that former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is continuing her campaign for the Republican nomination to be viewed ā€œas an alternative to Trump so that the convention can accept her should either Trump have a health problem, which he’s certainly just as likely as Biden to have — if not more.ā€

ā€œI’ll bet you anything that Joe Biden could beat the daylights out of Trump in a push-up contest, for example. And Trump knows it too,ā€ the former governor added.

He quipped, ā€œAlthough if it was a cheeseburger eating contest it might turn out different.ā€

Dean’s comment comes as polls have found a majority of Americans think Biden is too old for the job.

AnĀ ABC News/Ipsos pollĀ released earlier this month found a whopping 86% percent of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve another term.

By contrast, 62% of respondents think Trump, 77, is too old.
