Cartel gunmen carried out a drone strike using explosives during a raid on an airstrip used by a rival criminal organization to move cocaine shipments. The raid proved successful as gunmen from Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) were able to steal more than 4,000 pounds from a rival.
Breitbart News Foundation / Cartel ChroniclesThe raid took place over the weekend in the municipality of Tepalcatepec, the main bastion of the Tepalcatepec Cartel faction of Carteles Unidos. Both Carteles Unidos and CJNG are considered Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the U.S. Government.

The primary purpose of the blockades was to keep military forces from responding to a nearby airstrip called La Parota.

The drugs are believed to belong to Juan Jose “El Abuelo” Farias, the leader of the Tepalcatepec Cartel, who in the past has masqueraded as a freedom fighter and played a role in the creation of the self-defense movement against drug cartels.
