The head of the NCAA said the organization is ready to do what it needs to do to fall in line with the new rule that transgenger althetes can no longer participate in womenâs sports.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday in what is being called the âNo Men in Womenâs Sportsâ order, IJR previously reported.
NCAA President Charlie Baker released a statement calling Trumpâs order âa clear, national standard.â
âWe strongly believe that clear, consistent, and uniform eligibility standards would best serve todayâs student-athletes instead of a patchwork of conflicting state laws and court decisions,â Baker said. âTo that end, President Trumpâs order provides a clear, national standard.â
Baker continued by stating his organization is ready to keep up the rules set forth in the executive order,
âThe NCAA Board of Governors is reviewing the executive order and will take necessary steps to align NCAA policy in the coming days, subject to further guidance from the administration. The Association will continue to help foster welcoming environments on campuses for all student-athletesâ. Baker said. âWe stand ready to assist schools as they look for ways to support any student-athletes affected by changes in the policy.â
