Rapper Nicki Minaj took the stage alongside President Donald Trump on Wednesday, where she called herself his “number one fan.”
Minaj appeared at an event celebrating the upcoming launch of “Trump Accounts,” which intends to give $1,000 to every newborn, invest that money in the stock market and then give the child access to the funds on their 18th birthday. The famous rapper, who has become a vocal political advocate in recent months, said that the “smear campaigns” against Trump only motivate her to love him more.
“Well, I don’t know what to say, but I will say that I am probably the president’s numberone fan, and that’s not going to change, and the hate or what people have to say, it doesnot affect me at all,” Minaj said. “It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to supporthim more.We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and, you know, the smear campaigns.”

The rapper pledged to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to fund her fans’ Trump accounts, also known as Section 530A accounts, and argued that it will give children “a major head start in life.” It is currently unclear who would be eligible to receive Minaj’s contributions.
