SiriusXMâs Megyn Kelly tore into Vice President Kamala Harrisâ recent interview with MSNBCâs Stephanie Ruhle, criticizing Harrisâ response when discussing her upbringing.
Harris referenced her âmiddle-classâ background while outlining her economic plan for the upcoming election during her interview with Ruhle on Wednesday evening. Kelly slammed Harris for repeatedly mentioning how her mother âraisedâ her and her sister in a âmiddle-classâ household, urging the vice president to âstop talkingâ about her family and instead focus on âpeople who are actually suffering.â
âThen she finishes it off with â we didnât play this â but, âI come from the middle-class. My mother raised my sister and me, she worked hard.â No one gives a shit about your mother, they care about themselves. Stop talking about your mother start talking about the people who are actually suffering,â Kelly said.

âSo the only thing she said in the whole answer, and this was at the very end, was, âSo my vision for the economy is letâs deal with some of the everyday challenges that people face and address them with common sense solutions.â And then we got these four words â such as, yes, what? Affordable housing â okay?â Kelly continued. âAffordable housing, sheâs going to solve that. Weâre not sure how but sheâs mentioned a $25,000 tax break for first time home buyers only. So if youâve already owned a home youâre effed. If youâre struggling to pay your mortgage, but it happens to be your second home youâre effed. Thatâs it. And then she wants to somehow create more houses â we donât know how.â
Harris has often discussed her mother and middle-class upbringing when addressing her solutions to the economy. In an interview with 6ABC Philadelphiaâs Action News on Sept. 13, Harris rambled about her middle-class upbringing and lawns while attempting to address how she plans to make life more affordable.
