President Donald Trump on Sunday night called on House Republicans to vote to release files related to deceased pedophile sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Trumpās call for the majority party in the lower legislative chamber to vote to release the files came as just four House Republicans ā Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Nancy Mace of South Carolina ā signed onto a discharge petition to release the files along with all House Democrats. With the Nov. 12 swearing-in of Democratic Arizona Rep. Adelita Grijalva, the petition reached the required 218 signatures to advance to a floor vote, which has been scheduled for Tuesday.
āAs I said on Friday night aboard Air Force One to the Fake News Media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and itās time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat āShutdown,āā Trump wrote in a Sunday night post on Truth Social.
āThe Department of Justice has already turned over tens of thousands of pages to the Public on āEpstein,ā are looking at various Democrat operatives (Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.) and their relationship to Epstein, and the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DONāT CARE!ā the presidentās post continued. āAll I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT, which is the Economy.ā
āNobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory,ā Trump added. āSome āmembersā of the Republican Party are being āused,ā and we canāt let that happen. Letās start talking about the Republican Partyās Record Setting Achievements, and not fall into the Epstein āTRAP,ā which is actually a curse on the Democrats, not us.ā
Trump already publicly withdrew his support of two of the four Republicans who signed onto the discharge petition prior to Sunday night. Trump on Friday called for a primary challenger to run against Greene, but has yet to endorse a specific candidate. Former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein announced his primary challenger to Massie, another cosponsor of the discharge petition, Oct. 21, with Trumpās endorsement.
Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Nov. 12, the day Grijalva was sworn in, āhere should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else, and any Republicans involved should be focused only on opening up our Country, and fixing the massive damage caused by the Democrats!ā
