Obama Appointed Judge Blocks Trump Administration From Cutting Planned Parenthood

You try to move an inch toward protecting unborn life, and—bam!—a leftist judge appointed by Barack Obama pops out of the shadows to make sure the cash keeps flowing to Big Abortion. That’s exactly what happened this week when U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani swooped in to block the Trump administration from halting Medicaid funding to organizations like Planned Parenthood—organizations that, let’s not forget, allegedly profit from ending the lives of unborn children while wrapping themselves in the tired old flag of “reproductive health.”

Talwani’s latest ruling is another example of the federal bench being used as a weapon by the Democratic machine to shield its sacred cows—Planned Parenthood chief among them. Her reasoning? That the Department of Health and Human Services didn’t give “clear notice” to the Democrat-led states before cutting off funding. Because apparently, giving notice is more important than standing up for actual human lives.

Let’s break this down: Congress passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill”—a clear, lawful piece of legislation backed by the American people, signed by President Donald J. Trump, and supported by a pro-life majority. It included a provision to stop funneling taxpayer dollars into abortion mills for one year. A modest start. And yet somehow, in Talwani’s world, that’s unconstitutional. Not because the law itself is invalid. But because bureaucrats didn’t sufficiently handhold Democrat governors through the process. Give us a break.

This is the same judge who’s been playing political referee for years. She’s sided against the Trump administration before—like when she blocked efforts to revoke Temporary Protected Status for half a million migrants. And don’t forget her 2019 gem of a ruling, letting ICE arrest illegal aliens on courthouse grounds in Massachusetts. Apparently, she’ll defend illegal immigration one day and defend taxpayer-funded abortion the next. A real judicial multitasker.

But it gets better—or worse, depending on your tolerance for hypocrisy. Talwani has donated a tidy sum—$1,725—to Democrat politicians and their causes. That includes $1,000 to none other than climate scold and international man-of-sorrow John Kerry, $350 to Sen. Elizabeth “I’ve got a plan for that” Warren, and $100 to Barack Obama. Oh, and let’s not forget the $275 she funneled straight into the DNC. This isn’t some impartial referee of the Constitution. This is a dyed-in-the-wool progressive activist in a black robe.
