Ohio Restaurant to Feature Pierogi Drop NYE

“It’s a first time, and hopefully a tradition we keep running,” Lasecki said.

But Parma isn’t the only Ohio town with a unique “Ball Drop.”

In Chagrin Falls, for example, the Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop is getting ready for the city’s annual popcorn Ball Drop. This has been a tradition there since in 2012.

“This year’s popcorn ball carries special meaning. It’s named in honor of ‘Miss Sally,’ who originally came up with the idea for the popcorn Ball Drop,” General Manager Rachael Raymond said.

Raymond said the popcorn Ball Drop gave way for Parma’s new Pierogi tradition.

She helped by sharing behind-the-scenes details after she was contacted by organizers looking to create something unique to Parma.

“It’s exciting to get the community together,” Raymond said. “It gives people a chance to explore different New Year’s drops like these.”
