John Easterling, widower of singer Olivia Newton-John, remembered her and reminisced about the love they shared a year after her death.
In an exclusive interview with People, Easterling, 71, reflected on the past year without his wife and admitted, “Things aren’t easy.”
“But you always have to just dig. Olivia was able to never lose sight of the good things. Love is everywhere,” he added.
In June, Easterling traveled to Peru with her ashes to what he referred to as the couple’s “special place.” He held a private ceremony for her where the couple married.
“It lightened my heart and created a very strong focus forward. I had 15 years with this extraordinary human being. That experience itself is worth a lifetime,” he said of what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary.
Speaking on their marriage, Easterling shared, “The commitment Olivia and I had was that we would love each other forever or until the end of time, whichever came last. We’re still in that time frame.”
