A day after President Donald Trump took a shot at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) during his rally in her home state, the freshman Congresswoman is responding.

ā€œI mean, this man is a white supremacist, so it’s no surprise that he has ideas or feelings that Somalis are worthless,ā€ Omar said during an appearance on MSNBC on Thursday.

ā€œWe are very clear that in Minnesota, we are greater than hate. That is why he didn’t win Minnesota in 2016, and why he’s not going to win Minnesota in 2020,ā€ she added.

She continued to claim that Trump has a ā€œhard time accepting the fact that a district that is 65% white can elect a Somali refugee.ā€

During his rally in Duluth, Minnesota, on Wednesday, Trump referenced uncorroborated reports about Omar and asked, ā€œWhat is going on with Omar? I’ve been reading these reports for two years about how corrupt and crooked she is.ā€

He continued, ā€œFrankly, harvesting is terrible, but it’s the least of what’s she’s done. How the hell. Then she tells us how to run our country. Can you believe it?ā€

ā€œHow the hell did Minnesota elect her? What the hell is wrong with you people? What the hell happened?ā€ he added.

As Trump took aim at Omar, his supporters started chanting, ā€œLock her up!ā€

Trump’s stop in Minnesota comes as he tries to win over voters in a state no Republican presidential nominee has won in more than 40 years.

Omar handily won her Democratic primary in August and is expected to win re-election on Nov. 3.
