An OnlyFans model accused of killing her boyfriend inside their Miami apartment has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and accepted a six-year prison Sentence.
According to Fox News, Courtney Clenney, 30, entered the plea Monday in a Miami courtroom in connection with the April 2022 death of 27-year-old Christian Obumseli.
The agreement reduced the case from the second-degree murder charge she had previously faced.
Under the deal, Clenney will serve six years in prison followed by five years of probation.
She will receive credit for nearly four years already spent in custody following her 2022 arrest, meaning she could be eligible to leave prison in roughly two years.
The plea was entered as manslaughter with a deadly weapon. After her release, Clenney will also be required to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and participate in treatment.
Prosecutors said the agreement also addresses potential financial benefits connected to Obumseli’s death.
Assistant State Attorney Shawn Abuhoff said prosecutors would cooperate with the Florida Attorney General’s Office if officials pursue action to prevent Clenney from profiting from the killing.
"We do believe that nobody should benefit financially from murdering somebody," Abuhoff told the court.
Obumseli’s family spoke during Monday’s hearing and described the impact of his death as permanent. His mother told the court, "No Sentence, no plea can bring back my son to me."
The family also described Obumseli as someone who loved deeply and said he had remained in a relationship they characterized as destructive.
A family representative said his death left an empty place that could never be filled.
Clenney’s attorneys have presented a different account of the relationship, alleging that Obumseli was abusive and arguing that their client was a battered partner.
Obumseli’s family has disputed that characterization and maintained that he was the victim of domestic violence.
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle had previously described the couple’s relationship as "tempestuous and combative." The relationship began in November 2020, according to prosecutors.
Obumseli’s family also filed a civil lawsuit months after Clenney’s arrest against her and companies associated with the apartment building.
The lawsuit included allegations involving the couple and claimed the property defendants failed to provide adequate security.
Court records show Clenney resolved the claims against her before the criminal plea agreement was announced. The civil case continued against other defendants.
Clenney has remained in custody since August 2022. Her guilty plea now brings the criminal case closer to resolution after more than four years of legal proceedings.
