Time was of the essence for Time magazine owner Marc Benioff to congratulate and laud President-elect Donald Trump as Person of the Year for 2024.
âIn some years this is a hard, hard choice,â editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs said Thursday, per Mediaite. âThis year, not a hard choice⊠but this was an obvious decision for those of us at âTime.ââ
Then, Benioff took to X, formerly Twitter, to congratulate Trump on the honor and added his willingness to work with Trump.
âCongratulations to President @realDonaldTrump on being named TIME Person of the Year 2024. This marks a time of great promise for our nation. We look forward to working together to advance American success and prosperity for everyone. May G-d bless the United States of America,â Benioff wrote.
In his interview with TIME, Trump spoke about lowering grocery prices.
âIâd like to bring them down,â Trump said. âItâs hard to bring things down once theyâre up. You know, itâs very hard.â
Benioff is not the only member of the media to become friendly toward Trump.
Patrick Soon-Shiong, who owns the Los Angeles Times rejected an editorial that criticized Trumpâs choices for his cabinet.Â
Soon-Shiong also did not approve the publication  endorsing Trumpâs opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and owner of The Washington Post, also ruled his publication would not endorse a candidate.
