It is no secret that President Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have had a rather contentious relationship over the past year.
And Pelosi is reportedly sharing just how eager she is to see the current president leave office. Politico reports that the House speaker told her leadership team over the weekend, “I’m counting down the hours ’til he’s gone.”
“I plan to pull him out of there by his hair, his little hands, and his feet,” she added.
Earlier this year, Pelosi revealed that the two leaders had not spoken to each other in several months.
During an appearance on MSNBC in September, she was asked about Trump’s allegations that mail-in voting was rife with fraud. She said, “Forget him.”
“Let’s not dwell on what he did in the past. Let’s go forward and crush the virus. Let’s go forward and have a free and fair election, and whoever wins, we will honor that decision by the American people,” she added.
However, she explained she has spoken to members of his administration and that she does not believe speaking with Trump is a “good use of time.”
The current feud erupted in 2019 after a meeting at the White House with Trump and Congressional leaders fell apart, with the president calling Pelosi a “third-rate politician.”
“I pray for the president all the time, and I tell him that. I pray for his safety and that of his family. Now we have to pray for his health, because this was a very serious meltdown on the part of the president,” she said of the meeting.
