Pelosi Tests Positive for COVID-19 Days After Attending WH Event With Biden, Obama

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has tested positive for COVID-19.

On Thursday, Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, tweeted, “After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.”

“The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided,” he continued.

Finally, he added, “The Speaker will quarantine consistent with CDC guidance, and encourages everyone to get vaccinated, boosted and test regularly.”

On Tuesday, Pelosi, 82, joined President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama at the White House for an event commemorating the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

Biden, 79, received a second booster shot against the virus last week.

And on Wednesday, she joined Biden when he signed the Postal Service Reform Act.

As Politico notes, several high profile Democrats and members of Biden’s Cabinet have tested positive for the virus in recent days, including Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), and Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas).

And on Wednesday, Harris’ communications director Jamal Simmons also tested positive for Covid.
