Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) usually does not call former President Donald Trump by name. She prefers âwhatâs his name.â
In a recent podcast with The Guardianâs Jonathan Freedland â âPolitics Weekly Americaâ â released Tuesday, the former House speaker explained why, per The HuffPost.
Freedland asked Pelosi, âYou just donât like the word passing your lips?â
âI just donât,â Pelosi said.
âIâm afraid, you know, when I grew up Catholic, as I am now, if you said a bad word, you could burn in hell if you didnât have a chance to confess. So I donât want to take any chances,â she said.
Pelosi likened using Trumpâs name to swearing.
But she eventually said Trumpâs name when talking about how he attacks freedom of speech.
âI said his name, oh my gosh,â said Pelosi. âI hope I donât burn in hell.â
