Former Vice President Mike Pence is being roasted for a video he shared of him appearing to pump gas.
On Tuesday, Pence shared a video in which he took aim at President Joe Biden for the cost of gas.
“Hey everybody. Mike Pence here,” he says at the beginning of the video, adding, “Remember $2 a gallon gas? I do. And then Joe Biden became president of the United States and launched his war on energy. Since that time, gasoline prices are up 60%, electricity prices are up 25%.”
He went on to discuss his energy plan for if he is elected president.
The video showed the former vice president appearing to pump gas at a gas station while he spoke.

However, users on X — the platform formerly known as Twitter — pointed out a beeping sound in the background of the video.
“You forgot to select the fuel type, that is why it is beeping in the background. An easy mistake to make if you have lived in a bubble your whole life,” one user wrote.
The account Mostly Peaceful Memes shared a screen shot of the video but turned into a meme with the caption, “How do you do fellow gasoline consumers.”
Conservative commentator Chad Prather wrote, “Mike Pence doesn’t know how to pump gas much less fix America’s energy issues. Pick the octane Mike. The beeping will stop.”
“Mike Pence posted a video of himself gassing up a pickup truck. The fuel pump that asks you to select your gas type is beeping the entire time. He has clearly never pumped his own gas. Who thought this was a good idea?” asked conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong.
Meanwhile, another user pointed out it appeared the former vice president was not holding the lever on the pump.
Pence’s video comes as Gas Prices are on the rise again. According to AAA, as of Wednesday, the average price for a regular gallon of gas was $3.82, up from $3.53 a month ago.
