Piers Morgan fired back at Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro on Monday after being criticized for inviting critics of Israel onto his show.
Shapiro accused Morgan of ignoring basic principles by inviting critics of Israel on his show for the clicks. In response to Shapiro, Morgan said on âPiers Morgan Uncensoredâ that he simply wants to hear both sides and promote free speech.
â lacks the self-awareness to realize that many pro-Palestine contributors got very angry with our show for hosting so-called genocide enablers like him,â Morgan said. âThatâs exactly why Iâm not partisan and donât want to be. There is more than one view on any emotive or consequential subject. You canât possibly know you are right if you donât know what the other side thinks. Thatâs exactly why free speech exists as a principle that we all defend. When it comes to principles, as Mr. Shapiro puts it, Iâd remind him that I left several high-profile jobs over my principles.â

Shapiro said on his show that Morgan has made a âmockeryâ of the journalistic industry by inviting controversial guests on his show. He dismissed Morganâs interviews with several high-profile people, including live streamer Nick Fuentes and said he refused to be part of Morganâs show.
Morgan said Shapiro disingenuously did not show any segments of Morgan pushing back against any of his guestsâ positions on Israel, and he further accused Shapiro of pushing to cancel anyone who disagrees with him on Israel.
âItâs outrageous and disingenuous that the clips showed did not include the parts of those interviews where I called out every single one of them about things I didnât agree with ⌠You can take the view, as many do, that interviewing people with extreme opinions is pointless,â Morgan said. âYou can stick your head in the sand like an ostrich or sit behind your very big desk and wish they didnât have an audience. But they do. My view is they already speak unfiltered to large audiences and whether you like it or not, at least on my show, these audiences get to see them being challenged.â
âBen Shapiro used to make a mockery of deplatforming when the person being deplatformed was Ben Shapiro,â Morgan continued. âIt was usually shrieking protesters on woke campuses. But his own compromising views on Israel and Americaâs military and political spot for Israel have turned him into a cancel culture vulture with the very same sneering intolerance he used to loath. If you disagree with him, youâre a Nazi, he says.â
Morgan accused Shapiro of being a âpropagandistâ rather than a journalist.
