Planned Parenthood is known for its progressive policies, and now they are seeking to redefine the concept of virginity. The Abortion provider posted a Tweet Tuesday which said, “virginity is a social construct.”

They claimed, “The idea of virginity comes from outdated — let’s be real, patriarchal— ways of thinking that hurts everyone.”

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a virgin is most commonly defined as “a person who has not had sexual intercourse.”

Planned Parenthood’s own website states, “A virgin is someone who’s never had sex.”

This has led Twitter users to criticize the post and question the motives behind Planned Parenthood’s statement.

Comedian Tim Young responded, “Translation: Morality costs us business.”

Political Podcaster Melissa Dawn cited the definition of virginity, “It literally describes someone who has not had sex. That’s not a construct.”

Another user questioned their opposition to abstinence.

Then Town Hall editor Rebecca Downs decried alleged Planned Parenthood scandals.

Gays Against Groomers accused them of “sexualizing children.

The Harsh Truth called the post “disgusting.”

Concerns were expressed by other users, including Toni Bones, who wrote, “This is disturbing and creepy on levels I can’t even wrap my head around.”

Tim On Point responded, “When you’re in the business of harvesting baby parts for medical research, this is a great ad campaign.”
