A Town Hall hosted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) got out of hand Tuesday night as at least six people were kicked out and two were reportedly tased for heckling the representative.
Three people were arrested and others were escorted out, theĀ Atlanta Journal ConstitutionĀ reported.
CBS News reporter Jared Eggleston posted a video on X of one of the protesters being tased.
āPut your hands behind your back!ā an officer said.
āFā off ā,ā the man replied.
āFree Garciaā and āFree Kilmar!ā can be heard in other videos, seemingly referring to Kilmar Ćbrego GarcĆa. Garcia was wrongly deported with Venezuelan gang members, a federal judge said, per a report on Fox News.
Greene tried to quell the disturbances.
āThe protest is outside. Thank you very much,ā Greene said. āIf you were to sit and listen, youāre welcome to listen. Everyone across the aisle ā Democrats, Independents,ā she said.
āIām glad they got thrown out,ā Greene said after the event. āThatās exactly what I wanted to see happen ā¦ This isnāt a political rally or a protest. I held a Town Hall tonight. You know who was out of line? The protesters.ā
There has been an uptick in protests at town halls. Rep. Richard Hudson ( R-N.C.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, has encouraged other to stop having in-person Town Hall meetings.
