Almost a third of Republicans are confident former President Donald Trump will be reinstated as president this year, according to a poll.
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll, conducted between June 4 and 7, asked respondents how likely they think it is “that former President Donald Trump will be reinstated as U.S. President this year, if at all?”
Seventeen percent of Republicans say it is “very likely,” while 12% say it is “somewhat likely.” Among Democrats, only 7% believe it is “very likely,” and 6% think it is “somewhat likely.” Of independents, 17% believe it is “very likely” or “somewhat likely.”
New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman reported earlier this month that Trump has told people he expects to be reinstated to the presidency this year, as IJR reported.
“Trump has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August,” Haberman tweeted, adding, “No that isn’t how it works but simply sharing the information.”
Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump dismissed his claim, as IJR reported.
