A majority Off Americans think the war with Iran will last a lot longer than anticipated.
According to a new poll from CBS News released Sunday, only 9% of Americans believe the war will end within days or weeks. In contrast, 37% think the war will go on for months; 21% say it will go on for years.
President Donald Trump has said the war, which started in February, would because brief.
The survey also showed that the vast majority of Americans are not in favor of a long conflict.
Sixty-seven percent of respondents told CBS News pollsters they want the conflict to end now.
Only 33% who think the conflict should keep going until Iran makes further concessions.
The numbers are low concerning Americansā perception of how Trump has handled the war.
Thirty-five percent of Americans approve of his handling of Iran. For the most part, people believe Trump has not been honest with the public.
Sixty percent of respondents said Trump is making things sound ābetter than they really are.ā
Trumpās job approval comes in at 39%. That alines with other recent major poll numbers.
Fox News also put the presidentās approval at 39%. The Washington Post has Trumpās approval at 40%.
