Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana told Fox News host Harris Faulkner Thursday that former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey were “not ethical people” while discussing a criminal probe into their involvement in launching the Russia collusion probe.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred Brennan and Comey to the FBI, which launched a criminal investigation for making false statements to Congress, Fox News reported. Kennedy said Brennan and Comey were “especially bad” and contributed to the country’s tense political climate during the appearance on “The Faulkner Focus.”
“We have a number of people in America that are crazy. I mean, they take Politics so seriously that if you disagree with them, you are not just wrong, you are in error, you are a bad person, and presidents are very visible. I know they have good protection but they have to be protected every moment,” Kennedy told Faulkner. “I really regret we live in a climate like we live in, but I can tell you two people who contributed to that climate, you have already mentioned their names, James Comey and John Brennan.”

Brennan denied wrongdoing on Wednesday during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” telling host Nicolle Wallace the CIA “stayed true” and didn’t try to influence the 2016 election during the Obama administration when Wallace questioned him about the probe.
