Priscilla Presley, mother of the late Lisa marie presley, spoke about her daughter’s health the night of the Golden Globes Awards and opened up about her grief following her death.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Priscilla Presley, 78, to promote her upcoming biopic “Priscilla,” she revealed she knew “there was something not right” leading up to Lisa marie presley’s death on Jan. 12.

On Jan. 10, the mother-daughter duo attended the Golden Globe Awards to support actor Austin Butler who won Best Actor for his portrayal of singer Elvis Presley in the film “Elvis.” Priscilla Presley recalled that night as “a fun memory” attending the after-party with her daughter and revealed Lisa marie presley

complained of stomach pain.

“Then we sat down and ordered drinks, and she says, ‘Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.’ We immediately got up and left,” she shared.

Two days later, Priscilla Presley received a phone call from Lisa Marie’s ex-husband, actor-musician Danny Keough telling her she was in the hospital.

“I got right in the car, but she was already gone. I still can’t believe it,” she said, adding she doesn’t “wish this on any mother.”

Lisa marie presleydied after going into cardiac arrest. She was 54 years old.

Priscilla Presley confirmed the news of her passing in a statement to People.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss,” she said.

She concluded, “Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, Lisa marie presley’s cause of death was the after-affect “of small bowel obstruction” which developed after bariatric surgery “years ago,” per NBC News.
