Pro-lifers are celebrating as the first March For Life is being held following the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) tweeted, “Today is a historic March For Life – the first since Roe v. Wade was overturned. I want to honor the modern day abolitionists who worked for decades to overturn that travesty – including my wife Erin, who litigated the Dobbs case at the Supreme Court.”

He added, “And now we have to look to the future and redouble our efforts across the country to protect the innocent unborn.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) shared that he and his wife are standing “with the thousands gathered today in DC as they March For Life.”

He continued, “Thank you for being a voice for the voiceless.”

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) wrote, “Welcome to the thousands of Americans participating in today’s . Every child must have an opportunity to succeed. That begins with protecting their most basic right – the right to life. It’s and it’s why I support the pro-life movement.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) shared that he is “proud of the Kentuckians and all Americans standing up for human dignity at this year’s March For Life.”

He added, “I’m honored to stand together with you today and everyday in solidarity with the most vulnerable in our society.”

Franklin Graham called on his followers to “pray especially for all Americans to recognize the importance of protecting life.”

March For Life explained on the organization’s website why it continues to march even with the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

“The necessary work to build a culture of life in the United States of America is not finished,” the website stated.

It continued, “The goal of the national March For Life is to not only change laws at the state and federal level, but to change the culture to ultimately make Abortion unthinkable.”
