Oh, Jen. You really outdid yourself this time.
Just when you think the Left has exhausted every last ounce of decency in their pursuit of character assassination, MSNBCâs Jen Psaki shows up to dig a little deeper into the mud pit. On a podcast literally named âIâve Had It,â Psaki didnât just criticize Vice President JD Vance â no, no â she went after his wife. Because apparently, attacking a manâs policy is outdated when you can imply his wife is some kind of prisoner. You can practically hear the champagne corks popping in MSNBCâs green room.
Letâs break this down, because itâs truly a masterpiece in the fine art of leftist projection and character smearing. Psaki called Vance âscarier than Trumpâ (which is their gold standard for political boogeymen) and then spun out this unhinged fantasy that Usha Vance â a Yale Law grad and mother of three â might be in need of rescuing. Blink twice, they said. Maybe send a smoke signal?
Oh, and just so weâre clear, this wasnât an offhand joke made in passing. It was rehearsed, repeated, and even turned into the showâs episode description. Yes, the producers went all-in on the bizarre fan-fiction that Usha Vance is basically Rapunzel trapped in JDâs conservative tower. Not only is that completely untrue â itâs also deeply patronizing. Imagine reducing a brilliant, accomplished woman to some damsel in distress just because she married a Republican who doesnât buy into the mediaâs groupthink.
Itâs not satire. Itâs not âjust a joke.â Itâs strategic, calculated ridicule meant to dehumanize. Vance isnât just a political threat â now heâs a personal one. A man so âscaryâ that his wife, they claim, must secretly want to escape. This is the new playbook: If you canât beat them on policy, invent a home-life horror story and hope someone believes it.
And while Twitter lit up with people (rightly) calling this disgusting, itâs telling how predictable this all is. JD Vance stands with Trump? Launch the smear machine. JD Vance is gaining traction with middle America? Suggest heâs a closet tyrant. JD Vance happens to be married to a successful Indian-American woman? Imply sheâs been brainwashed and needs saving by⌠MSNBC?
But hereâs the kicker: these comments donât exist in a vacuum. Theyâre part of a broader pattern. The Left has moved from mocking political opponents to mocking their marriages, their families, even their spousesâ agency. The irony? These are the same people who preach womenâs empowerment like itâs gospel. Unless, of course, the woman in question chooses to marry a conservative. Then sheâs clearly brainwashed, oppressed, or worse â in need of MSNBCâs heroic intervention.
Fox contributor Joe Concha nailed it: âNot a good person. At all.â That about sums it up.
Psakiâs defenders will say it was all a joke. But hereâs the problem: when your idea of humor includes accusing someoneâs marriage of being a hostage situation, youâre not joking â youâre smearing. And youâre doing it on national platforms, fully aware that these narratives stick.
And the backlash? Itâs not just coming from conservatives. People across the political spectrum are tired of the double standards. Tired of the media elites who get to label any Republican as âscary,â âdangerous,â or âworse than the worst guy we already compared to Hitler.â (Which is apparently Trump, but Vance is now scarier? Stay tuned for next weekâs episode, where theyâll probably claim heâs scarier than climate change and breakfast burritos combined.)
Meanwhile, as Psaki fantasizes about playing political superhero, JD and Usha Vance are, quite literally, overseas â trying to help negotiate peace. But sure, letâs talk about blink codes on podcasts. Thatâs definitely the real threat.
This is what passes for commentary on MSNBC now: slandering the Vice President and mocking his wife under the guise of edgy humor. Donât fall for it. And donât let them keep doing it unchecked.
The smear train has left the station â and itâs running on nothing but projection, mockery, and pure panic.
