MSNBC host Jen Psaki is urging her viewers not to be lulled into the belief former President Donald Trump will not win the 2024 Election.
During a segment of her show Sunday, the former White House press secretary sought to keep Democratic voters from becoming complacent.
Psaki noted Democrats had a good election night last week as Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) won re-election and the party took control of both chambers of the Virginia state legislature.
âYou might have found yourself thinking, âAlright, maybe things arenât so bad. Maybe I shouldnât be so terrified about the safety of democracy and my rights after all. The forces of good are winning out in the end,â she said.
While she conceded she could understand why Democrats could feel that way, Psaki informed her viewers the âthreatâ of a second Trump term is âstill very real.â
She then played a series of âconcerningâ comments the 45th president made recently.
Watch the video below:
Finally, Psaki knocked the âhandwringing and cocktail party speculationâ about President Joe Biden.
âGuess what, Joe Biden isnât perfect,â she continued, adding, âWe have to understand what the alternative is here.â
She went on:
âIf elected to a second term, Donald Trump would prosecute anyone he deems an enemy, unleash troops on protesters, and essentially unravel the rule of law as we know it. And this time, he plans to line his administration with people who will actually help him do it. But sure, Joe Biden is three years older and occasionally trips over things.â
Psaki insisted, âThereâs a lot to be concerned about right now when it comes to a second Trump term. The speeches are getting much more disturbing and much more unhinged, and we should all hear it that way.â
Her comments come as RealClearPoliticsâ average of polls shows Trump with a narrow lead over Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up.
