Renee Good’s Former Father-In-Law Doesn’t Blame ICE Agent For Shooting

Renee Good’s former father-in-law, Timmy Macklin, suggested on Tuesday that she made poor decisions leading up to her fatal shooting.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross shot Good on Jan. 7 after she abruptly accelerated her vehicle during a confrontation. Although Macklin said on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” that he was “not blaming anybody” for the incident, he indicated that her lack of adherence to God played a role.

“Renee was an amazing person. Full of life, full of joy. Real gentle, a good mother. I just think we make bad choices. And that’s the problem. There’s so much chaos in the whole world today,” Macklin said. “And that’s why the Bible says, ‘If my people would humble ourselves and seek his face and pray and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our lands.’ And that’s what we need to do. We need to turn to God and walk in the spirit of God. And let him lead us and guide us.”

“I think there’s some bad choices. And the word says, ‘For the wrath of God will come upon the children of disobedience.’ And I don’t blame ICE,” he added. “I don’t blame Rebecca . I don’t blame Renee. I just wish that, you know, if we’re walking in the spirit of God, I don’t think she would have been there. That’s the way I look at it.”
