Geraldo Rivera spoke out against President Donald Trump and the GOPās āgroupthinkā regarding elections.
Rivera said Trump had āmade liarsā of the āentireā Republican Party and the GOPās āgroupthinkā had undermined its credibility when he was part of Wednesdayās āCNN NewsNightā panel.
Earlier Wednesday, Trump reveled in what he called a āBIG NIGHT FOR MAGA,ā touting a perfect ā7-0ā record after every Republican candidate he endorsed in Arizonaās primary elections won Tuesday.
The panel was discussing the significance of Trumpās endorsements.
MeidasTouch host Dina Doll commented three individuals running in the state and backed by the president were āelection deniers.ā
Commentator Tara Setmayer noted the results reflected a broader strategy heading into future elections.
āDonald Trump is coming for our elections in the midterms and setting it up for 2028. We know this. Heās telegraphing it,ā she said.
āAnd this is another example of him doing that by endorsing candidates that do not believe in free and fair elections and relitigating 2020 and conspiracy theories,ā Setmayer added.
Rivera, who has described himself as a Republican, is a former Trump ally.
He shifted the conversation away from future elections and toward what he called the partyās ongoing inability to answer a basic question about the 2020 presidential race.
