Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is letting ABCâs George Stephanopoulos know how she feels about the way he handled Democratic presidential nominee Joe Bidenâs town hall on Thursday night.
Stephanopoulos noted the president has been getting into arguments with Republican senators, including Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), after he criticized Trump during a phone call with constituents this week and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) after he tweeted she is not âworth the work.â
âI want all Republicans to win. I want to keep the Republican majority. I want to reelect the president and I want to get the House. We want every Republican to win,â McDaniel said.
She added, âIâll tell you why. You have a candidate on the Democratic side right now, Joe Biden, who on your town hall, and continually, after question after question about whether or heâs going to upend the third branch of government and burn down our checks and balances, is saying Iâll tell you what iâm going to do after the election.â
Watch her comments below:
McDaniel accused Biden of failing to be honest with the American people even during Stephanopoulosâ town hall.
He pushed back, âHe actually said after a couple of questions that it would be before the election.â
McDaniel replied, âEvery reporter lets him get a free pass.â
Stephanopoulos argued he asked Biden several questions about packing the Supreme Court.
McDaniel reiterated she wants every Republican elected, but more importantly she wants âBiden to get a tough question that he actually has to answer.â
Stephanopoulos said, âHe did answer it on Thursday.â
He asked Biden during his town hall if he is still opposed to court-packing or if Judge Amy Coney Barrettâs nomination is âreason enough to rethink your position,â as IJR previously reported.
âIâm not a fan. It depends on how this turns out. Not if we win. But how itâs handled,â Biden said.
